Mmm-mmm—DELICIOUS COOKIES!
After a day of cookie-baking with his 9-year-old grandson Davis (the two of them eating the cookies nearly as fast as they came from the oven), David W. Cowles wrote WHO ATE ALL THE COOKIES? It’s a fun-to-make cookie recipe book featuring a delightful story for children and adults:
Woods Bakery is famous for its colossal cookies, which have always been baked by Wally Woods personally. When Mr. Woods and his wife decide to go on vacation, he teaches his bakers the secrets of making the humongous cookies.
The first day Woods is away, the bakers make the cookies as planned, but then decide to taste them. What a mistake! The cookies are so delicious the bakers eat them all, leaving none for customers of the bakery. Fortunately, the day is saved by Betsey the “bakery girl,” who introduces a new type of cookie to the bakery.
After reading this story, youngsters are invited to participate in a family cookie-making project. Along with interesting anecdotes grown-ups will enjoy, WHO ATE ALL THE COOKIES? includes easy-to-follow recipes for yummy Oatmeal Cookies, Chocolate Chip Cookies, Peanut Butter Cookies, Black and White Cookies, and Chinese Cookies.

Hot on the heels of Mrs. Batterfingers wildly popular Kindle cookbook "
Old Fashioned Cookie Recipes" comes her latest collection of "
Sinful But Simple Chocolate Dessert Recipes".
From Mrs. Batterfingers:There are two types of recipes I love. Those that are quick and easy to prepare and those that are made with chocolate! This collection of recipes has both. All of the desserts are simple to make, delicious to eat and I guarantee they will satisfy your sweet tooth.
I have found over the years, that when it comes to baking, everyone's idea of "simple" is different. So I have divided the recipes in this book into three categories. There is everything from basic recipes that are so easy kids can make them to more elaborate (but still incredibly simple) desserts.
I hope every baker from young to old and beginner to advanced will find a sinfully simple recipe to tickle their fancy!
Here's just a few of the recipes you'll find inside:
- Mud Balls
- Chocolate Overload Pizza
- Mint Chocolate Candy Bars
- One Pan Triple Chocolate Cake

We love desserts in the south and my children loved to "help" me with these. I know they really loved to "clean" the whisks, bowls and spoons but it was nice to have them in the kitchen.
These are my favorite 20 dessert recipes that are easy to make and got the "double thumbs-up" from my family and friends. (That is our unique rating system to see if we needed to change anything or take it out of the rotation) A double thumbs-up is the highest rating. (since each of us only have 2 thumbs)
These recipes have been tried and tested so all you have to do is follow the directions and enjoy.
Though I am not a trained chef, I grew learning to cook from a mother & grandmother that were both really good southern cooks. Now that I’m older I’ve become a Food Network junkie. I’ve tweaked recipes from dozens of chefs, restaurant owners, kitchen cooks and celebrities.
What you have here, after countless hours of viewing and experimenting in the kitchen is a compilation of some of my favorite dessert recipes… the ones that family & friends enjoy.
